FIA Launches its Airline industry Website

The Federation of Indian Airlines (FIA) announced the launch of its website www.fiaindia.in, for the Indian Airline industry.

The website was formally launched by the Civil Aviation Minister, Mr Praful Patel, in the presence of the Airline chiefs. Chairman, FIA, V Thulasidas; and other FIA members including Kingfisher's Vijay Mallya, Indian Airlines' Vishwapati Trivedi, Jet Airways' Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, Air Deccan's Warwick Brady, Indigo's Bruce Ashby & Rahul Bhatia, Spicejet's Siddhanth Sharma, were also present.

The FIA website provides information about the Indian civil aviation sector, the domestic carriers, and addresses the issues which the federation feels are critical for sustainable growth of the airline industry. Discussion papers and Issue based notes on topical aviation matters will also be regularly updated on the website.

The Federation of Indian Airlines (FIA) was formed by the Indian scheduled carriers to address a collaborative growth agenda for the Indian Aviation Industry. It has a focus on inter-airline cooperation in issues like safety, passenger amenities, ground services, aviation protocols among others - with an overall objective of safety & growth in the Indian aviation sector.

Air Deccan, Air India, Air Sahara, Go Air, Indian, IndiGo, Jet Airways, Kingfisher Airlines, Paramount Airways & Spicejet are its founder members.

This new Airline body joins the ranks of other similar airline industry associations across the globe. The International Air Transport Association; Air Transport Association - USA; Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (South East Asia & Australia); Arab Air Carriers Organisation (Middle East); Association of European Airlines (Europe); African Airlines Association (Africa) are some of the other important airline bodies.
